It is getting close to renewal time for UMPC domains.

What is the general consensus , Renew or Drop ?

There was a UMPC frenzy on NP this time last year :)

Ultra Mobile PC

I let mine drop (they aren't very good anyway)

I took the reg fee's and got some "Palm top" domains

I'm letting all of mine drop except for a couple that get a little traffic each month.

I think UMPCs are getting lost somewhere in the buzz about new phone capabilites (iphone, etc). Things like this are quickly eating up their niche.

They need to come way down in price if they're ever going to catch on, IMO.

I renewed a few of mine because they have PR1 and small traffic.

I like UMPCs, but I don't think that will be the term that catches on. More likely, eventually there will be a really cool UMPC with a catchy name and everyone will just use the brandable as the generic term.

Ok, so it looks like the consensus on here is to drop.

I couldn't even auction mine for $2 ~ drop ~

it is better to drop unless you are getting some traffic.

It depends on how good they are.

UMPC.cn along with UMPC.com.cn fetched a nice $49,000.00 US.

I think you should look at them as a long term (3-5 year) investment; if you have the money to do so. And, I hope you also have some "Ultra Mobile" domain names that wouldnโ€™t be restricted to reference PCs necessarily but all things Ultra Mobile which is a term I'm certain we'll be hearing an increasing amount about over the next 18 months.

Best wishes,
Kimmy
