Some on the board have PMed about variations of Geo domains (I guess b/c we bought Daytona.tv). IMHO, variations are all on a case by case scenario. One of the larger Associated Cities operators owns Daytona.com, we advertise on that site, and it gets decent traffic (which is the reason I got it).
I just regged TYSONS.TV. Tysons Corner, VA is the largest retail concentation on the East Coast (outside NYC) and in the early 90s (based on office space sq footage) would have been a top 25 downtown area. I can only imagine now, the thing has doubled. The DC Metro system is expanding to Tysons with 2 or 3 metro stops to continue expansion in that area.
Tysons is basically downtown Fairfax County, VA. Since we are launching NorthernVA.tv and NorthernVirginia.tv, I think this makes sense for us.
Everyone in my area says "Do you want to go to Tysons" or "I work in Tysons".

So once again, I think these variations make sense on a case by case situation. Don't go and reg ANGELES.TV b/c that doesn't work IMHO.
