Typo domain value

i just regged a domain yesterday, a typo of a website, dont ask how i decided to check out typos for this domain but i did and found that all of them were available

the one i chose was in my eyes the best typo of them (tho i dont know anything about typos), its the typo that i would make

since parking at namedrive its received 150 views, thats in a space of time less than 24 hours, and its got a couple of clicks aswell

anyone know what i should do with the domain, just leave it parked and collect the revenue, sell it, i dont really like typos tbh so i dont really want to hang onto it

where would be the best place to sell and what is the value of typo traffic like this (i know it would be easier to judge if i gave the name but im considering regging alot of other typos for it so i dont want to give it away)

any opinions/advice would be appreciated

well i wud suggest keep it first..if in need of money sell for 12 mths revenue or more..
i love typos as well.. uniques n clicks roars on teh first day u park..

especially when u find ovt of that domain wif 200+ n still available to register..how unbelievable..n excited isnt it

to be honest i was shocked when i saw it was available, i would share another thing that makee me love this typo but it may give too many clues to it so cant until i mop up all the other lovely typos of it


update on traffic: 230 views today now, this is crazy, its gonna top 7k per month at this rate

You will need to be very careful for TM issues and typo squatting. You are walking a line of bad faith, so tread with caution.

If the name is not TMed, then you typo is very good. If it is TMed, maybe has some trouble.

uspto.gov is for the USA, but there are also other country TM's.

trademark checked and nothing, looks like there are no issues with squatting

520 views now aswell, so conservatively this will get 500 x 30 = 15k visitors a month, hopefully more, ive also played with the keywords now and have got the clicks rolling in, 8 so far, hopefully the namedrive auto correcting thingy will be kind!!

Views and uniques are two diff thing. 10 unique visitors can view 500 pages.

the more unique visitors you attract the more money you make. We don't want same ppl loitering around without giving us any money.

update: finished at 756 views yesterday, already hit 400 for today, not happy about the ctr tho its sitting between 1 & 2 %

autocorrected to $0.07 a click, which is alright but i was hoping for a bit more, with this ppc and ctr its getting $1 rpm

im thinking a mini site with adsense is going to monetise the traffic better as alot of people must be seeing the parked page and hitting the back or close button

Irishmat, does the site the name is a typo for have any kind of affiliate program? Is it even a site offering some kind of product or is it more of a social site?

I'm finding with my poker site typos, it's kind of a toss-up whether directing the people to the site and getting sign-ups is better than parking at Fabulous since Fabulous winds up making $8-$20 per poker click, but I'm sure in certain situations, doing the affiliate thing is far better.

I've never had a particularly high-trafficked typo, but I've had a high-trafficked name I got off of expiration that apparently had been quite a bustling site (Alexa rank peaking at mid xx,xxx a few months before I got the name). It was very nice in the beginning, about 1000-1200 uniques a day, with maybe every fifth day netting 3000-5000 uniques. I wish I had known how poorly paying Sedo was at the time, because my best day on Sedo was over $50, and I imagine if the name was on Fabulous, it would have been more like $250. High traffic typo is better because the traffic will generally move with the popularity of the site it's a typo of...a former site will always tail off in traffic.

gonna move it around parking sites to see if that helps (wish i had a fabulous parking account but they wont let me in!) and then do a mini site and compare everything to see which is best for maximising the revenue

off topic: anyone have any suggestions for tools for finding typos and anything that helps determine what the best typos would be for specific names

autocorrecting is being relatively kind to me so its pretty much paid for its reg already

hopefully going to put up a mini site with adsense on it to try and squeeze as much revenue as i can out of it, just a matter of finding the time to make it, and im not much use at it! lol
