Hey guys,

I'll start this with the normal "Here's the names, what's your valuation?"

1. ActionJunkies.com
2. ShiftyMedia.com

Both names are going to be marketed, they aren't meant to be keyword adsense sites and stuff.

Now, here's where this gets a little different, I'd like you to tell me what I should do with ActionJunkies.

I know what I'm doing with ShiftyMedia, but I not so much about the other.

What I am positive about:

I want it to be an "all action sport" site - Including BMX, Skateboarding, snowboarding, skiing, paintball, motocross, ext.

Now, what I want to know is: Should I make it a video site? Social network? forum? I was thinking PhPFoX would work well, but what do you think?

Thanks and of course rep will be upped for those who reply!

Thank you,

Ryan

I would install PHPMotion on it, which is a free video sharing script like YouTube, AND forums :)

I would have these:

Skateboarding
BMX
Football
MMA
Wrestling

And a few others :D I definitly like ActionJunkies though :D

Hi, with ActionJunkies.com I would make it a social-network side targetted against extreme sport practitioners with a tiny blend of semi-videosite. :)

Best regards,

I would think an ExtremeSports Forum.Like you said skateboarding, bmx, surfing, snowboarding, ufc type fighting,etc..Also be sure to include base jumping, skydiving, bungee jumping, mountain climbing, deepsea diving,etc..There are alot of extreme sports and adrenaline activities out there and new ones being spawned every day so be open to new subforums from your members.Anyway I think it it a great name for this and with time and work you could have a huge site on your hands. Then youll be able to sale adspace to some high profile companies,EnergyDrinks, sports beverages,snacks,equipment..etc..etc....
Well thats my thoughts,Hope it helps.GL with whatever you decide to do.

I'm just going to bump this, I'd like some more ideas if you have any. You can see a pretty cool landing image if you go to the URL :-P.

Think in reverse how you can monetize it, what the sponsors would like to see and then what would bring a lot of dynamic content onto your site without much involvement or investments from your side.

I would think, star with a info portal which can get feeds from extreme / outdoor sports news and throw in a forum to discuss the same. In the forum itself, post new threads pertaining to sports events / news which could be discussed.

Also bring about a incentive system on the forum which could pull in more posts. Something like posts milestones and free ribbons etc.

Now that you have a news portal and a forum discussing it, you can start featuring particular sports. Go from then on to expand.

As simple as that advice sounds, it's the key many people miss. They build this glorious site then a week later realize it takes so much effort to run it they can't do anything else.

I don't know what's involved in running a user generated video site, but this seems like the perfect domain to do it on. Everyone loves to show off that video of the skateboarder biting it - Have a feature spot for the best trick of the week, or worst wipeout - people love to compete even if all they get is the honor of being the "best" video for a period of time.
