Hello,

Your thoughts and words are needed in order to appraise www.twitthub.com.

I registered this domain last year for a site related to Twitter tools, services and any other thing. Though its still undeveloped but I am planning to start work in the near future. What do you think about this domain with and without website? A site that host any tools and services available for Twitter!

this name is brandable, but I am not sure on the TM legalities etc. As you would still be trying to profit off of the Twitter Brand.
So I am thinking they could turn around and sue you , unless they have an open policy that is not against names like this.


Also GoogHub.com is available as well. But I would bet that G could / would sue .

Also I see a TM violation in your iPhone domain. Some people like to mess with trademarks & take that risk.


You have a good idea and all, but I think you are walking the line a bit closely at least for my liking.

I saw many domains started or included the word 'Twitt'. They all are dedicated or used Twitter API to provide some extra services to Twitter user. I dont know whether Twitter.com have policy any strict policy.

Regarding www.iphonehdr.com, its not my site, just rented my signature.

Any other appraisal is also more than welcome please.

NO problem, glad to hear it is not your site, i like to call things like that out when see them, because some people have no idea. I looked and tried to find something on their policy but it is non existent. They do have a list of app developers etc. I noticed none of them had twitt or twitter in their domain. I did see at least one with tweet, but that is different. I still think twitt is on that line, you might want to just consider contacting them and asking about starting a fan site, & wanting to put Twitt in there. You might get a green light . If they are against it you could always donate the name to them or delete it. Just my thoughts.

I do think it would be a great name as a fan site though if you could get away with it. I like hub names

I registered this domain with the thought to develop a fan site where I will put all the application and services available to date for twitter.

I am agree with your opinion regarding legal aspect. As per your suggestion, I will contact them about this name.

BTW, there are some sites that use word http://twitterstars.com/twitter-sites-and-tools/ .

That in itself isn't a problem. A lot of sites do that. Especially sites with tools for eBay sellers, myspace layouts, etc...

tweethub.com might be a little better. Just because there are tons of sites using twitter in the name, doesn't mean Twitter won't one day go after them all. They'd probably get some bad publicity doing that, since those sites are making twitter popular. Plus, I remember them actually promoting a couple of them in the past on their site.

As I already mentioned in previous posts, the thinking behind to choose the word twitthub is that I want to make a site to provide information about almost every Twitter's applications and services available. A hub or repository where one can find twitter's apps or services.

I think tweethub.com is better suite if I go for tweets.
