Does anyone have experience/stats with .TV acceptance in asia? Do people easily recognize extension in that region, or does it cause confusion? The site will be in Chinese.

It's pretty much unknown as an extension in China. Everybody knows the meaning of "TV" though. In Japan .TV seems popular with adult sites. If you are looking into the Chinese market you should get a Chinese IDN, not Pinyin and not English.

IMO some of the best .tv's have been registered in the Asia region.......They definately know about the extension.

P.S. My last two domains sold at Sedo were snapped up by someone in China.
