TuCows.com - How Do They Work?

I've never used them before, and I haven't really heard of anybody else using them either.
But I'm currently buying two names that are at Tucows, and I might need to use them now (if I decide to not transfer the names, that is).

I frankly have no clue how they work. Couldn't make heads or toe of their interface or any info given there.
What do I need to set up my account there so that the owners I'm buying the names from can transfer the name to my TuCows account? One name is a .org, the other, a .com.

Can anybody give a lowdown as to how their system works?

I had the same questions a few month's back and just decided to not buy the domains due to the registrar (TuCows) I couldn't quite figure it out (im highly technical-Healthcare interface specialist) So i just moved on. I would just have the seller transfer them out. Good Luck

well, I'm already in Escrow for the two names. And these are two amazing names, so I wouldn't want to back out of the deal anyway.

Tucows (OpenSRS) offers reseller accounts. Individual domain management is done via https://manage.opensrs.net/.

I looked over the control panel, and at first look there seems no way to modify details of an individual domain from the reseller account itself, so changing the password to the individual domain management seems to suffice, BUT ... if you buy domains there, I would be careful to make sure you move the domains out because it is well possible that the seller is the reseller account holder, and that to me is a recipe for disaster.

From what I've gleamed from their website, changing ownership basically entails the owner handing out his password and username to you. Complicated.
I'll simply ask the owner to transfer the name out to me. Their control panel is too complicated for my taste...

I would get the names from the seller and transfer out asap. Although thats just me.
