6e23.com

Remember moles from high school chemistry? 6.022 x 10^23 molecules in a mole. Expressed in concise scientific notation it would be 6.022e23

While not exactly equivalent (those pesky 2s) I thought this domain could have some value since it would be isntantly recognizable and easily remembered by pretty much any practicing chemist/chemical engineer, no matter what language they speak. I imagine the same holds true for a good many pharmacists. Plus it rhymes in English.

While obscure to the general population, I think the domain might have some value in a niche application.

Thoughts, comments and appraisals, please.

EDIT: One of the reasons I thought this might be a good pick up was because of the mindshare. Say I want to sell chemical supplies and I decide to do so as 6e23.com. Then, every time a chemist does a calculation with moles, they potentially think about my website.

Yup, you are nuts. You asked. :) Ah hell, it was only a few bucks anyway, and you had fun!

Good luck

Just had that chapter a few months ago... bleh. Although, if it had homework answers, I probably would have referenced it :)

Some ideas sound so great when you first think of them, and then reality sets in.

Along the same line 14159.info is available. add the subdomain "3" and you have Pi.info at 3.14159.info. Take the decimal out further and you get more TLD's available.

Interesting yes (from a geek domain collector POV). ...Usable and sellable, probably not. I'll bet it's gone a few days after posting this though.

Thanks for bringing up high school chemistry. The flashbacks and nightmares can now commence.

Thanks everybody for the comments. Crazy as it sounds, I think I will hang onto this. I do have an idea for a fairly easy minisite. So we'll see what happens.
