Hi all,

for my very first post here, I would like to have an appraisal about this domain:

travels.tv

It seems ok but in which 'level' please ?
Any precisions would be very appreciated.

Thanks all

To state the obvious, "travel" would be a first choice. But, your name is workable and even has a touch of brandability to go with its generic nature. I would venture somewhere in 4 digits: $3000 - $6000.

Low to Mid $xxx IMO

for a well-developed tourist related site on tv channel site, it may worth much as $xxxx or more.

Yes probably in several months and after working on it, we maybe increase this.

I think its a great name

'Travels on TV' or something like 'Great Travels on TV' could be great...

It is the plural form, but for a .tv extension, when the end user would be ideally a television producer, the plural form works much much better. You wouldn't have a television program with just a single Travel, would you?

Sometimes, I think the plural form - even though they might not have that many searches - are so much better for brandability that the singluar...

I kinda agree with you regarding plural and so on, but I dont see that this one has it going here, it sounds way better with "Travel dot TV" then "Travels dot TV" hehe, which it can't obviously be called, but it is.

Don't get me wrong, im not saying it isnt valuable and worth holding, im only saying that it can't be measured in value as it's in the plural form.

I'd say low/mid xxx to resellers, endusers low/mid x.xxx .

Good luck, I would personally hold on to it for a good while :).

Take care,
Andree

Come on, if you've ever watchd Discovery Travel and Living, you'll see that most shows that have a 'travel' in their name, have the plural form. 'Food Travel' doesnt sound half as nice for a tv show than 'Food Travels'...the plural form simply implies something thats ongoing, rather than something that happened
I agree for a .com, Travel.com would've been worth about 60% more than travels.com, but for .tv, I think the plural form is better

just my 2 cents...thats what I would value it as if I was buying it

I wasnt saying it sounded better with a word and then travel, what I said was if your going to brand a name, its easier with the non plural form. Simply because thats what people try out first, mostly.

"Travel TV" thats what the domain says
"Travels TV"

you get the point? hehe :).

No offense.

Cheers,
Andree

Carlton, RCK, htmlindex, leede, skn191, sashas, rawandy, chaitanyagoa :

B I G T H A N K S !!

Because I'm not a native speaker (I'm french), your comments, even if they are different, are very appreciated & very useful for me.

The sentence I kepp: "hold on to it" :hehe:

It was my feeling when I registered it directly for 2 years, because dot.tv market is quite new.

Thanks again, for my first post, I must admit you all have been very cool !
