Hey

I may soon be developing a travel site for a friend, it will have good a good design etc and look very nice. But im not sure how best to market the site, Ive got quite a few ideas that will bring in a steady stream of traffic, but I alsways want to know to bring in that little bit more.

Im just wondering can I have the help from someone with a bit more expertise at travel sites. The site will be a travel site with information about different places etc, and maybe an affiliate system.

All help will be appreciated! Thanks
- Dan

you may want to go to big-boards.com and search for "travel" and join them and be a regular member of it, retaining your travel link at your sig,
another one is signing up at ian.com for their travel affiliate program.
to get some other stuff like books on travel signup at associates.amazon.com
some coupons, tshirts, other items related to travel check out reporting.net, linkshare.com, cj.com has also travel affiliates and magazines and hotel bookings.
good luck with your friend's travel site, btw i have 2 travel sites.

Take part in newsgroups and discussion forums or by starting a blog related to your niche market. Offer valuable content relevant to your industry thats updated on a regular basis. Exchange links with sites that are related to yours but don't compete with it directly. Above all I think an Affiliate would probably be your best bet. It would get traffic to your site and you'll need to pay only when they help you make a sale
