Im having some serious traffic jump, but it seems that someone is just refreshing my page thousand times. I have 0.28MB on the host (the photos are on another host), and check this month stats:
THIS MONTH'S TRAFFIC LOG
JAN 1 17531012 16.72
JAN 2 18105703 17.27
JAN 3 23882688 22.78
JAN 4 20830665 19.87
JAN 5 16694032 15.92
JAN 6 22082727 21.06
JAN 7 137620099 131.24
JAN 8 425006295 405.32
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
TOTAL for January 2006: 650.171MB 650.171MB

And im still only getting about 150 uniques a day, so visitor number hasnt changed.. Ive quickly moved this 0,28MB to my new host though, as my monthly limit here was 1Gig.

Any clue what can cause this?

Maybe a few people just really like your site and come back multiple times. I know I visit other sites multiple times in a day.

Yes, but still, the index.html is like 15kbytes, if they check all the pages (on this server) once, is 0,28mb. This means 1428 uniqe visitors check all the pages on my site, under one day. But i know for sure, that i have about 150 uniques a day. (adsense datas)
So its pretty weird to me.. Anyways the site is on its new host now, where i have much bigger limit.

Why does this concern you so darn much?

That just under 2 days i was on my monthly bandwidth limit and thats why i had to quickly change the host..

Possibilities:

- someone is deliberately trying to drain you bandwith resources and kill the site for the rest of the month. Have you stepped on anyone's toes lately? Have you dumped your girlfriend recently?

- someone is running a data-mining script to collect some info. Do you have an extensive database on the back-end?

Can't tell more without knowing what the site is. In any case - check the IP log to see if you can single out one or more IPs and ivestigate where they originate from.

Someone is probably using a program that eats up your bandwidth.
I have a program that can do that, but I never use it because I think it is illegal.

Most "girlfriends" I know wouldn't know anything about bandwidth and stuff like that, lol.

Yes, there quite an extensive database on the site (btw its www.burjdubaiskyscraper.com), and my first thought was that its doteasy.com themselves where i have 100mb webspace and 1gig monthly bandwith, because they might tried to force me to upgrade to a bigger webspace for some bux. Also, at doteasy they show no stats about your site, only the traffic in megabytes. So i moved the site to the new host, and i hope there wont be such thing again.

It also can be a datamining script as well, i have unique content on the site (photos and diagrams etc)

Thanks for helping!

Could it be other people hotlinking to your images ??? just a thought
forget that I see you had your images elsewhere - oops

I'm sure everybody has hotlinked before but it is pretty annoying. Generally you can tell which files are using your bandwidth tho so check that out!
