So looking for some advice as I have the following situation. I own a "three keyword" .com domain whose keywords hundreds of end users are either using on their site or domain itself. So I promoted the domain recently and found out that someone was able to trademark the keywords as they threatened me when they got my email offering the domain for sale. For the sake of example, lets say the keywords are Keyword1Keyword2Coach .com. It's really a line of business many are involved in but only 1 trademark is registered. I was never expecting even a trademark to exist on it. So the trademark specifies a niche in the business that the majority of the other end users are not even focusing at because it really is not the MAIN business. I can provide the exact domain and information privately via PM.

Can SOMEONE help me determine if the trademark holder can really exclusively own the words involved or not?

If the words are TM'd, checked when the TM was filed, if you owned the name before the TM was filed, then you should be ok...if not, I would get rid of the name

PM me if you want more accurate/specific advice

Whether or not you could be facing any trouble is a component of many factors.
You should know however that when an individual or an organisation registers a specific trademark, they have to determine how they are going to use it.
This means that they have to declare which Nice class their trademark (and therefore their services) appertain to.
Of course the trademark is registered for the specific office (geographic territory) that the individual or organisation submits the application to.
Having that in mind you can determine if you are in trouble or not, but for helping you out with a specific trademark check you can pm anytime.

p.s: Having someone intimidating you for any possible issue is usually not accepted by the law. In any case, unless a court of law desides different, the domain is your intellectual property and you have the right to stand for it.
