Nothing fundamentally has changed with .pro since March 2005 in term of pricing, restrictions, total registrations or recognition so there is no reason why .pro they would have gone up in value. However, better managed alternative extensions like .info and .mobi have done well and so .pro has benefited from a valuation ripple affect.

It's still possible, I registered Airport.pro tonight. Until .pros like this are snapped up, regging offers better value than buying on the aftermarket so you don't get much of an aftermarket.
No aftermarket means no profile raising auctions, no record sales announced in industry magazines and websites, no professional domainer interest, no corporate interest, and very little development.
The only way to get dnou $X,XXX+ for Tours.pro is for registration prices to fall so that all premium .pro keywords are regged and don't get thrown back because people can't afford to reregister.
At that point it becomes viable to pay a premium to reg fee on the aftermarket and the alternative extension development snowball starts rolling. .mobi and .info registries can work out these simple dynamics, why can't Registry.pro?
