In American culture, the most common numbers associated with "Top" lists, tv specials and articles are 3, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100. "The Top 50 most beautiful people in the world...The top 5 films of the week...The top 10 with David Letterman. These numbers with "top" preceding them have much more inherent value without development than Top1000 or Top2000 does. There is the "Fortune 500"..but I just don't see top lists of 1000 or 2000 anywhere.

To elaborate a little further, it does have easy brandablity and recognition as its positive attributes.
