To be scammed or not to be scammed?

I am going to go ahead and call out my "potential" Scammer - qqtest / [email protected]
I call him a potential scammer because the truth is, it could be just a misunderstanding (but I doubt it)

  • I agreed to sell him the domain name ZRNY.com (communication through NamePros)
  • Fortunately (I hope) I used Escrow.com for the transaction.
  • Money was confirmed by Escrow.com
  • I Immediately go to push the domain name
  • He is unable to accept the domain according to him due to incorrect "transaction id"
  • I check with Godaddy and they cant seem to figure out why he is having difficulty.
  • We change the push method so he can simply accept it.
  • Within a few hours of accepting the domain name, he informs Escrow to cancel the transaction and return the funds.
  • I call Escrow.com to confirm domain has changed hands. They confirm the domain whois information does now reflect the buyers. They move to Inspection period.
  • I am waiting now on qqtest to accept the domain name at Escrow.com - but I have my doubts.

I am very curious to see how Escrow.com will handle this situation. Hopefully qqtest will come to his senses and do the right thing.

If Escrow began the inspection period without the buyer's input, it'll time out and move to closing & release of funds.

Unless he disputes it.

I think you'll be fine. Escrow will work it out if you have a problem I'm sure.

I wonder if he just was having problems with GD. Probably won't want to undo the sale; he'd have to give the domain back before getting his money.

Even if he was having issues. He accepted the domain transfer and then promptly informs Escrow to cancel the transaction.

Well, I don't know. Perhaps something didn't make sense to him or it didn't appear to him he actually had the domain. GD had some issues today, some things not working.

I can't think of any realistic excuse to try to cancel a transaction right after you click the accept button. Even if there was a problem a legit buyer would contact GoDaddy or the seller first to see if there was a problem.

Ok. buyer had accepted. case closed.

Somebody should remove the email of the person in the subject. It looks like a simple case of miscommunication and to have the label of "potential scammer" is unfair at this point....

I'm happy the situation resolved favorably for both parties. Sometimes fear and impatience may trouble us, especially where valuable assets are involved!

Impatience wasn't the issue, the highly questionable actions are what made me uncomfortable.

Too much content, some messy.
I need to do some explanation.

1.About cancel the transaction:
The first request to cancel the transaction at "2016ๅนด12ๆœˆ24ๆ—ฅ 00:01"(Beijing time),
The second time at the seller push domain name five hours ago "2016ๅนด12ๆœˆ27ๆ—ฅ 18:31"(Beijing time).

2.The seller Selected Authorization type is Push, and I have clearly provided account information, but the seller is the use of "Accept Emailed Changes",and it's wrong.

3.Five minutes to complete the push, the seller spent nearly 10 days.

4.The seller asked me "How did you lose $200?" at last.
When I pay you the domain name market price is 10500 rmb
Now is 8700rmb
Actually, I lost more than $200

5.Although the transaction is very bad, but I did not give the seller a bad review,I want to give him a chance to correct. But the seller is here to report that I am a liar.

6.The seller did not tell me about the report.and no @ me.
If it wasn't for Nat Hunt to tell me, I wouldn't know.Everybody thinks I'm a liar.
