This Camera Good?

I purchased this camera from Ebay and need some feedback on it. I will use it to take photos to help inspire my graphics work.

8M MAX Via Interpolated
4X DIGITAL ZOOM
F3.0 Aperture

Its a small slim camera i payed £75.00 for. Whats your views on it? And is the 8 Mega Pixel via interpolated useless? I herd it wouldnt really make your camera 8 Mega Pixel it just makes it sound better.

Optical zoom is better -- always try to get a camera with it instead. And it takes more than megapixels to make an image better (too many manufacturers use sleight-of-hand marketing to boost their pixel ratios, but the image isn't truly 5+ megapixels).

In Astrophotography CCD is a science. They got some s-e-r-i-o-u-s cameras of the most superb kind (with 15+k price tags too). SBIG and Apogee make the best types. Don't know if they can be used for anything but taking pictures of stars, but for those who want mega-megapixels, check and see. The Hubble's new wide field camera uses a whopping true 16 megapixel camera alone!

Does the camera have a make and model number ? It might help in getting more detailled specs and/or reviews?

“interpolated” is useless, but so is 8MP for the average user. Bear in mind that 1.5MP is 1280x1024, or full screen pixel per pixel on a 17” LCD. Unless you want to print true photo quality larger than an 8x10 3MP is probably enough.

In some cases it's nice to have a higher MP and optical zoom so you can zoom in and crop on top of that. But of course you pay for that, in more ways that one.

In other cases it's nice to have a small slim camera that you can keep in your pocket and pull out and use without having to wait for your optical zoom lens to pop a viagra and wait for it to take effect.

But there's a lot more to a digital camera than just MP and zoom. It's a good idea to start with something cheap and get a feel for what you want before spending more. That being said, you can get an awesome camera for $250 that I can't imagine anyone would be upset with.

Im not really good with digital cameras, i mean i dont really use them to take proffesional shots.
Best choice for good shots would be an SLR camera. You are in control of everything. Digital cameras cannot take stop action shots because they have delays. If you want to buy a good digital camera buy a SLR digital camera. That is the best and it saves money

You'd better learn to use a digital camera or be very careful with the SLR you have now. SLR cameras that aren't digital are becoming rarer all the time.
I take stop action shots all the time with my digital camera. I don't notice any delay, but then again I don't notice the delay in an SLR when the mirror is flipped out either.
