I'm very qualified to comment on this domain.

Both my mother and two sisters suffer from Celiac Disease.

For anybody who has a celiac sufferer in the family they will appreciate the need for information.

Shopping for food, preparing meals, going to restaurants and taking vacations all need careful thought as the smallest amount of food containing gluten can have terrible affects.

Regarding the domain I think 'The' seriously affects its value.

Thanks for the feedback. I was actually going to use it as an information site about how mine came about, and what happened before the diagnosis...and of course the changes since then. and possibly a directory with links...when I was diagnosed, I had never even heard of it. Strange how things can change everything about your life...especially since I can't cook...lol

Celiac is very overlooked condition.

My mother and eldest sister had been sick for years before the diagnosis and what was even more ironic was my sister was half way through medical school!!!

Are you in the US? My family are in the UK where they get a lot of food alternatives, free through the national health service.

I am in Canada, originally born in Scotland. Yes, mine was diagnosed with a biopsy, after 20 years of problems...of course, they always had an answer, but I just kept getting sicker and sicker.....until I moved from toronto to british columbia, funny, the town I am in now has a very high rate of people with this...yet a big city like toronto, the doc's there had no idea. Sorry for your mom and sister, it is hard on the rest of the family too. Definetly limits where to go out to eat. Cheers!
