It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

I certainly agree with MicroGuy, there is some serious problem at the registry.

$400 or $1000 sales are noteworthy but not significant in terms of value of .pro.

I feel like I am defending the extension..I would like for someone to tell me exactly what information they have that suggests that there is a "serious problem at the registry"

This remark would lead one to think that failure is inevitable... so someone has some information....I sure would like to know

Demagogy about nothingโ€ฆ

Certainly, Registry.pro is NOT Verisign or narCO-Registry, and has low budget on advertising.

Serious websites/startups - the most powerful way to PROmote any TLD.

Yeah, bidders at this auction might just be left with losses, I don't think anyone should bid on these domains. :p

Specially not the ones I'm bidding on.

I heard the same kind of talk last year when the .tv relaunch happened, glad I didn't listen to the naysayers then too, would have cost me five figures in revenues.

The biggest problem is the lack of marketing... have you seen any?

I think these names to be auctioned were reserved ones. I don't understand why some people view releasing reserved names as desperate measures!

Am I missing something?

They'd rather you buy their crappy also-ran .coms than high value generics in an extension they choose to stay away from.

I think Registry.Pro is doing the right thing, releasing these names before the new extensions launch, it would be 100x tougher to get good values for these when the competition is 100x.

Tbh my .pro investment is a loss leader for now, but with the keywords I own, one sale is enough to take me into the black.

I've turned down 2x for one domain than I've invested in the entire extension, so make your own judgement calls and don't let anyone else lead you down the garden path.

Flawed logic is just that.

So you must have access to Registrypro's advertising budget.

Does anyone know a good way to just see the .pro's on auction at Godaddy besides the ".PRO Premium"?

The .pro isn't listed as an extension so you can't filter by them.
=================
Just noticed my .pro auction ended early and you can no longer list .pro's for auction (it's no longer in the dropdown). >:(

It must have been a glitch in the system to allow you to list. I just got shut out as well.

Looks like hostway-like issues managed to screw up godaddy's system as well... sad.

I first posted 15 Pros with no problem. I had a problem with conflicting whois data and was in contact with the staff. We worked it out and they posted more of my Pros. Then I made a bulk submission and they had a problem with my contact email address. I pointed out that it was correct and they posted more names, now totaling 127.

At that point I still had 80 or so that needed approval. Then about an hour ago they all disappeared.

I don't believe for a second that it was a glitch.

If I lived in Arizona I would have driven my truck through their front doors and parked it in the lobby.

So far bidding seems light, none of the 1 char or 2 chars have bids.

Job.pro with 6 bids seems to be getting all the love so far.
