The overture rank of every 3 letter combination w/o extension & their uses

I started this list about a month ago, and reached kpg, but haven't made any more progress.

What I'm curious is whether or not anyone else has this list in its full form?

The purpose? A quick way to check the usefulness of registering available 3 letter combos, without having to check each one individually each time. Also allows one to prioritize which 3 letter combos to seek out in less desirable extensions.

Just for curiousity's sake, check this out. The top 50 3 letter combos and the times they were searched for last month (From AAA to KPG, that is):

do it using a proxy on a freebee webserver so if you get kicked out for using too much of the CPU it won't matter :P

Wow, that must have taken awhile to compile by hand. You could probably do it by proxy as Josh said.

Wasn't by hand, but overture only allows a certain # of queries per/time frame. I'm keen to proxies, but they see "through" them somehow

The New Overture Suggestion Tool

its more than 3 characters (i'm sure its also got 3 character domains) .... http://www.ovtdomainnames.com .... it has over 100,000 domains with overture count with and without extension. Sortable database. Heres an example:

Nice list..

But it would probably have been better to see the Wordtracker results (or both), since Overture doesn't distinguish between singular and plural searches and they also add related/similar searches to to their results, so their numbers may be a bit off..

One example is the #1 spot for CAR
Most of those searches are probably for CARS..

Wordtracker returns:

used cars 19,008.0 /day
car 11,850.0 /day

And Overture:
car 102,874.3 /day
car rental 50,464.7 /day
used car 48,551.5 /day

Like I said, I only reached the mid k's , so I'm not to some of the more popular higher words (Top, Sex, Pot, etc.)

The observation about the plural vs. singular is spot on, in my opinion

However, I doubt that "car" will be left in any extension, what I sort of thought this would be more useful for would be those 3 letter combos more towards the middle/bottom of the list.

For example, XDX.us was available to register 2 days ago. I was curious if anyone every even searched for XDX, so I checked it's overture ranking. Now it very well could have included the "plural" form, but it's much less likely than real words

I think "my" list is only useful once you get away from "words" that could easily be made plural, or acronyms that make sense plural...
