.com will allways be "king" but "king" is not the highest in human hierachyyy
So .com is the "king" TLD but clearlyyy not the highest TLD.

And if not, it would be freakishly expensive. No sense blowing all your cash and go into debt for a .COM, then have to eat beans and Mac & Cheese for 10 years.

My personal hierarchy of domain extensions is .COM - .ORG - .NET (+ ccTLD) - .CO, with the specific choice based on a wide range of factors.

They all work and are recognized, just don't go bankrupt buying a .COM and stay away from the newer funky stuff.
