The Domain Name Purity Test (cool!)

This is a fun little test to see how "pure" your domain name is according to Google.

You'll need a Google API key ( They're free, and you can get one at http://www.google.com/apis/ )

You've probably seen those "purity test" sites before, where they ask you a bunch of weird questions related to a certain topic and then tell you how "pure" you are about something. Well, Google has its own purity test and it's based on whether your URLs are filtered by its SafeSearch mechanism or not. Thus, the Domain Purity Test.

This hack runs a search for the URLs in your domain and assembles the results (or the first fifty URLs, whichever comes first) into an array. It then searches for each of the URLs in the array with the SafeSearch filter turned ON. If an URL doesn't appear with the SafeSearch filter turned on, it's booted into the "Naughty" array. If it does appear, it's put into the "Good" array.

Mine:

Your domain prophp.com, according to Google's SafeSearch filter, is 72% pure!


It's a strange program. Most domains don't even return a purity score. Guess it still needs some work.

Yeah - I tried a couple of domain I was working on for sales today first and it showed zero results - Then I struck that one in and got the results - I like it for branding and all - Good tool - Google has some great tools and programs -

Yea, I got that too, mostly. I got a couple of 1's and 2's as well.
