Thing is, I ('we'?) do 'get it', that's why I said "and then I will explain to you why he isn't a 'genious' at all." Remember??
And, since I threw out the bait and you bit, here goes:

'We' fully well realized what he is trying to do, i.e. get people traffic to his auctions and draw attention to his names (as opposed to actually selling them for the ridiculous amount listed) etc., but it doesn't matter 'cos the names (in this auction, as well as in his others) are rubbish and noone will want to buy them, period (or, if by any chance someone will, it will be for a very tiny amount), nor is he via these auctions luring anybody towards any good stuff of his of any kind (not even at his site, I'd say). All he will be real successfull in is people having a good laugh. Oh, that, and attract the odd lawsuit.
Yeah, sheer genious I tell ya. Not.

Comeone
95% of the domains listed here @ namepros are of little worth
But people still buy them even if for a small price

Im sure someone new to the internet or someone else will find those domains of value and buy for a few hundred and he will make profit.
You may think them crappy domains but who made you the all mighty authority on domain value.

Okay, let's say he's doing it for traffic only. He gets traffic at a PPC site which maybe creates income. The income then helps prove bad faith use of the domains, since they obviously aren't worth what they are listed for.

Trademarked domains $9 each. Ebay listing fees $10... Posting trademark infringement on one of the highest trafficed sites on the internet, Priceless (at least for the UDRP agencies or lawyers).

<sarcasm>Sounds brilliant to me.</sarcasm> :|

Wow, i didnt think people get that dumb.

He isnt getting traffic to the domain, but to his auction with all this exposure.

I really hope your whole post was sarcasim, otherwise leave the internet for good please.

Geez kaliboy2g. No offense, but your attitude and replies seem rather harsh.

Don't get bent out of shape over simple observations and opinions by others.

Getting offended over a debate over the internet on a message forum.... A message forum??

On the ignore list you go, cant bear to read anything more from you.

To add some more points to my arguement.

We all agree he wont sell for 95 million.

But we can agree that he is getting a lot of exposure.

Not a very strong response, yours (Says I, the Almighty Authority On Domain Value.. That's with Caps, btw!), but I forgive thee. But what is that, adding my buddy -db- to your ignorance list!? Well did you ever!

As I've said before, I wonder if it's a ploy to get the numbers up. You advertise on Ebay. Everybody wants to see what the fuss is about. They go to that domain. If it's parked, then the guy probably makes back the insertion fee. If it's not, then he runs up the traffic count and then can sell it as getting xx a day which is more than what he would have gotten before. I could be wrong, but it's the only thing that makes sense. I see this has already been mentioned. What people fail to realize is there will be people who will check that domain, do a search for it on Overture to see what makes it that much. And thus run up the Overture numbers, and other things. It's a marketing ploy. The names aren't worth anything, especially with Microsoft in them, but I really think that is why people do the million dollar thing. Whether it's a good ploy or not is open to debate.

BTW, Ebay must have went up. I thought it was only $5 last I checked for that amount.

As far as names not worth much, it's all relative. I've seen some pretty bad names go for some high prices to end users. GoToSpain.com which had no overture, no backlinks, no nothing, went in the xx,xxx range to the Spanish Tourist Board. So you never know.

A 1% insertion fee would mean close to $95,000...
