Hey,

What do you guys/girls think this very brandable domain is worth?

Just picked it up and namejet for $230, it has been registered since 1997 and is a PR2 domain.

Thanks

That is a very nice name. Its very brandable especially if you sell merchandise related to Texas. Or better yet you can use it as an online text message website. :D

you might need to be cautious of trademark issues....and it might be a good typo name. Traffic numbers would be interesting to know.

Brandible, yes (but then so are thousands of other domains).

I did not spend time to research the "wayback machine" to see what it was.

I suggest that you find out traffic numbers and include that info in your request.

Not bad Morgan. I probably would have picked it up for $230 but I haven't been keeping track of drops lately. Nice snag. Good luck with it :tu:

I used to live in Texas, and I learned there that your domain is the correct way to pronounce the State's name (phonetically) :)

Why would there be a need to be cautious of trademark issues? Am I missing something here? - Good suggestions about traffic inclusion and checking wayback etc.

I have Texaw dot com. The letters "W" and "S" are very close together and it gets a lot of type in and clicks. Makes over $50 a month. Luckily I hand reg'd it about 3 months ago (i think).

Texus is more of a spelling mistake than typo, but considering it was reg'd in 1997 and has PR2 means it should get traffic and should be worth quite a bit if you develop it. Hopefully if you do it quick enough it should retain some back links (if it has any).

Personally I would've limited myself to about $200 in auction as well. So $230 isn't a bad buy. I'd give this an easy $300+ to resell market.

Good luck with it.

I really like this name. It's incredibly brandable IMO. However, after a quick check, there ARE a couple of live TM's, one of the term Texus exactly and another containing the term.

I'm not an expert in TM matters, but it would be wise for the OP to check uspto.gov for details of these TM's and to, at the bare minimum, avoid parking keywords that might conflict with them. Obviously, they would have to come after you, but it would be sad to lose such a nice name.

Still loving the name. It's the best example of a 5L brandable I've seen in a while. I would love to see it developed.

Matt.

Don't mess with Texus!

The tm for Texus was created in 1960 and i cannot find anything about it, the domain was not used by the organisation since it was first registered in 1997.
So i dont think there should be any troubles.

good name, check the traffic. might be able to sell for more depending on parked revenue. if its not that good, my suggestion is to sell it for the low $$$$ offer (its just what i do if i owned it) :)

I thought the offer was fair and was even surprised by it. I would take that offer.
