the extension kills it for me.

years ago, i owned a couple of great .nu names, but after renewing a couple of times, i realized that the same names in a .org extension did much better and cost a lot less.

they used to bill it as "the NU alternative" .. but it never caught on. at least not in the US.

as stated before, I think it's regfee - very low $xx domain

The extension is the drawback here..

I have stated it before and so have others
GreatName.CrappyExt will always be worthless
I own VISTA.id.au same thing Not worth the Zero Price I didn't pay for it.
Telephone.nu is an excellent name for the Telephone company of nuie but any one else Not worth anything

Value
Zilch, zip,Buggerall,Not a Brass Razoo ,or especially Less than RegFee

Buy some cheaper better ext's and Develop them ,you will do better .

Sorry, but I'd have to disagree with the previous posters here. I think this name has potential, because of the fact that "nu" are the first two letters of the word "number". When I first saw the title of this thread, I immediately thought "telephone number".

I'm certainly not saying that Telephone.nu is hugely valuable or has a lot of resale potential, but it's still a nice name to have, and very brandable, IMO. As an internet telecommunications publisher myself, I find this choice very interesting.

Ghris, if you'd like to discuss development potential for this domain, please feel free to PM me.

Hmm, actually no. "Phone" is premium word in this case AFAIK. :)

i see what you're getting at, but the common abbreviation for "number" is "no", not "nu"

and the extension is still awful.

daze,

I'm aware of that, and the first thing I did is check to see if "Telephone.no" (Norway) was free, but it was taken of course. The way I see it, it's less about the actual abbreviation, and more about word association. For me, telephone.nu still makes me think of telephone numbers... maybe I'm the only one, but I doubt it.

Ghris,

Sure, PM me whenever you like. I'd be happy to discus it with you.
