Is the $4.99 US TDNAM fee worth it? I see a name there expiring soon and cannot bid unless I sign up for the TDNAM. There is no bid at present on the name.

Have others who have paid the fee really benefitted from the services? Just curious before I spend another $4.99 .....

I think its worth it, ive sold a few domains on there myself for mid $xx, not much, but for $4.99 invested thats ok, and in terms of buying, well you do actually see some good domains come up for rock bottom prices from time to time. I missed out on one recently.

Yep. $4.99/yr is a tiny price to pay for access to the domains they have available. It'll be recovered on the very first sale/purchase.

Yes. I would encourage you to join TDNAM. It's solid for both buyers and sellers.

I picked up one for 5+reg fee and sold for 200! I just renewed mine, totally worth it! imho

Worth it. But there are now many bidders like namejet. it is harder to get deals there compare to the beginning of TDNAM.

4.99 is not a lot. Afternic is 19.99 but their domains tend to be better. The only thing I don't like a bout tdnam however is that there is just dozens of crap you have to sift through like reg fee domains with the asking price of $50,000

yeah TDNAM is most def worth it.
For example..

I usually check out other .com's and .net's when im around town just to see what people own. I saw a flower shop with a nice .NET a mile from my house and thought to myself 'hey thats a pretty decent name, wonder when they regged that'

turns out today i find the .COM of their name :)
for $5.
what are the odds????

They don't keep domains - Goddady, that is.

Your not kidding. The last four months or so have shown that many more bidders are bidding, and I noticed most of them don't know what they are doing. They will be broke soon or way in debt.

I killed 'em dead with TDNAM in the fall of 2006. I signed up and was one of the first bidders on the board - it was a ghost town for a month or two and anyone could have their pickings. Strangely enough though, most of the really good domains started showing up in early 2007 and now, in 2008, not many high quality domains come through.

There is still a lot of opportunity there if a person wants to work hard enough to find the gems.

It takes time and patience. But if you can sift through all the junk and find your gem, then its really worth it.

BTW, how is tdnam for selling your domains ?

You can't afford to not sign up, you'll miss too many good opportunities.

I have found it very worthwhile. I do pretty well in the Closeouts section where I don't have to bid against anyone. When I buy an expired name from auction I set and stick to the price that I am willing to pay. If I don't get that name I still have 1000's of other choices to pick from ;)
