I'm trying to add my bank account to sedo for wire transfer and I don't know to use the international swiff code or the local one. I live in the u.s. which code do I use? Any input would be greatly appreciated. :snaphappy:

I think you should ask your bank about this, anyway I'm not sure about that since I'm not used to wire transfers :)

Thanks Whisper & RJ but, my bank gave me 2 seperated codes. One for transfers in the u.s. and one for international transfers so basically all I need to know is what country would sedo be sending from?

Thanks in advance
Chris

Interesting, I've never had to deal with the two seperate codes before.

Sedo is based in Germany.

Don't give them both - speak to the person that gave you the swift numbers

I have used wire transfers recently and the company i was wiring the money to gave me two. One for american and one for their european bank - you need to clarify which one they want u to use otherwise the money could go missing:notme:

The swift code is your banks identifying code hippo so you don't actually need it unless you are receiving money from someone.

If you were going to wire money to someone then you need the following to give to your bank to tell them where to send the money to:-

Beneficiary's Account number
Beneficiary's Account Name
Beneficiary's Bank Name
Beneficiary's FULL postal address (including zip or postal code) and country
Beneficiary's Swift number

from the party that is to receive the funds.

If you were going to be receiving money, then you would be the Beneficiary and would have to supply all that information to the party sending you the money.

Hope this clears things up guys.

Just curious. Sedo will send via PayPal. What are +/- to using one payment method over the other?

Nice info....

To terry I dont personally want paypal to handle large amounts of money...

My brain doesnt trust it...

Use it for small transactions ..

My Swift codes are all 9-letter ones (e.g., citiphmxa ), which I believe is standard format for all international Swift codes. My routing numbers are in this format - 1099-1469.

bensontwenty. Great info that I need right now. Was wondering what the hang-up was on a wiretransfer from London, and why the two emails requesting full bank details. Isn't it convenient for the payor to ask for the details and remain unspecific about what is missing? :hehe:
