I am looking for some software or scripts that I can use to help assist me in finding good unregistered names. I was wondering if I could get some pointers.

What makes a good domain finding script? Are there any that are tied to wordtracker?

Is there one major one that is popular?

Are there some that I should stay away from?

I have been using estibot pro membership which is all good but I would rather spend some of my money on a script I own and can change. If I google domain software I find a ton of different software but I am not sure what i should be looking for or staying away from.

The best software is the one you write yourself. I just made a whois class in Python, and every time I want to search for a bunch of domains I create a list in a text file to iterate through or something to generate combinations, then just check it in my whois script.

The only difficulty with this is that piping can be a pain in the arse >_>

Why a whois instead of going through an api of godaddy or other registrar? Just wondering because the whois I thought was on a time limit on how many it will accept.

I am hoping for something a little more robust. I am kind of at that point now where I can create the names. But then I am stuck going to estibot to find the PPC and other info.

Even when I'm running this with 80 pipes going, I don't get blocked. It's because I check multiple whois servers at a time instead of flooding a single one.

You could, if you insist, use the "mass" checker (100-at-a-time) on dynadot, though.

If you can already create the names, try DomainResearchTool.com (desktop software, pretty awesome, I use it), it has overture, google, whois...and it's damned fast. Also great for organizing your own portfolio. It's the only truly professional level desktop domaining software there is.

Of course, you can tell me what you want to see in the Estibot domain name finder tools, and I'll see if I can make improvements that you'll like :)

thanks for the recommendation. Is there a chance that estibot will be integrating into the Drt tool. Like an API?

Also with the domain creation names I am looking for something that is integrated with wordtracker or wordez. MakeWords works pretty well too. One of the issues I have with estibots creation is the long words it creates for me. (could be I just am not using the tool correctly) I usually will get back a long 3 part worded domain.
