I think we should have the first 10 slots of the auction reserved for people who are willing to pay to put their names there. If NP decided to make different tiers and increase the prices for submitting a name it would vastly improve the quality of the names being submitted. There are a lot of $2 sales that clutter up the auction which are really just filler til we get to the nice names.

An auction queue that didn't start 30 mins before start would also be nice for those of us who consistently can't make the auction to sell

Just some thoughts.

I think it would be a great idea, though you would have to make the price pretty high to prevent people from just putting up crappy domains in the que, and not coming to the auction...

Then you're just turning into SitePoint

You wanna increase listing fee again? Live auction is where you get decent prices only for standard quality domains like 3 letter, 3 char ones & perfect keyword good extension names. Even some good domains fetch below par rates. For eg, recently one of my domain sold for abt $5, i did a buy out and now recently sold the same for $75. So, with time sellers will realise the type of domains that fetch good price at auction & will list only those.

Realise one thing, a seller with poor domains is definitely gonna lose money here.
