Submission of Sub domains

Hi,
I currently a domain whcih i have already submitted to major search engines, I have just added a subdomain e.g. http://new.mydomain.com
and i have a link from my main home page to it, do i need to submit the sub domain to major seach engines or will they automatically pick it up?

If i submit the sub domain will they think it is spam? and block the domain?

Also should I submit individual pages as well or not?

Well submitting the main 'home' site page is what you need. If you have just 1 subdomain then might as well submit it also.

I may have upto to 5 sub domains so would you recommed submitting all of them?
All of the page link to all of the other subdomains and main domains
