Hi SKG,

Have you sold any of your GEO .tvs or are you looking mostly at developing them?

I have 4 in my cart at GoDaddy right now... Smaller places but possibly good niche tourist destinations, and these are the kind of places that people go online to look up... All of the .coms are taken...

Just wondering what you thoughts are on these types of names, I am betting that you like them a lot B-)

I am just trying to decide if I want to spend $100 on these right now... :hehe:

Hi Linker, to answer you question, I have not sold any geos, however that is by my choice. I have had multiple offers on many of them. I have plans for them in the future.

If you are comtemplating on buying geos, I strongly feel they are one the least risky niches. Travel and Community verticals are the two that will benefit the most from proper web 2.0 development, imo.

Geos are safe bets. Either you can register them before somebody else registers or pass on that cart to me.

Thanks and good luck,

GH

Well, the reason I am hesitating on 3 of them is that the .coms are all parked... One the .com is a developed site...

I am going to be patient and check them again tomorrow and then decide...

Well, not to push you. But some possibilites.

3 .coms might have been parked by domainers. Check other extensions, if at least one of those extensions are developed (including the ccTLD for that geo, if it exists), then .tv with that name is a good bet I believe.

While 1 .com is a developed site, you may doubt about TM issues, but generally geos are safe for that, though in exceptional cases, otherwise may happen.

Did you consider registering at enom instead for cheap price for multiple years?

My 2 cents,

Funny thing is when I went there I still got $49.99 each in the cart... $24.99 each at GD...

Anyway, like I said these are smaller type places, smilar to a .com I own Mabua... but these places are a little bigger, anyway... I am going to sleep on them...

Use Enom.tv (create an account if necessary) not enom.com

Good luck,

I decided to pass on those smaller Geos... I did get a new .tv last night, though... I went with SaintJohn.tv... Saint John is my home city, actually, located in New Brunswick Canada...

In May 2006 the City had a population of 69,961 and its Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) population was 126,000...

Obviosuly Saint John can be used for a lot of other things, too...

If any of you guys want to know those other ones that were available PM me, and they are certainly not big places or anything, so be forewarned... :)

After reading this thread about SKG buying the nice Geo of St Martin.Tv i thought id have a look about at something similar as an investment for a few years after i just sold 1 of my gambling sites.

SO my 1st buy was St Maarten.Tv

i had never heard of St.Maartn before but had heard of St.Martin, after doing a bit of reading then it appears St.Martin & St.Marten share an Island in the Caribean (unless im wrong)
St Martin is French side of Island & St Maarten is Dutch.

Overture Info:

St Maarten: 20296
St Martin: 23608

St.Maarten.com has been developed into a nice tourist orientated site. Im pretty happy with my 1st Geo .TV so far, what do you guys think??

Smart move to reg your home town, a place you have contacts and intimate knowledge. Nice!

Cheers!

I was well aware of St. Maarten but opted to reg the French side over the Dutch side for a couple different reasons. Still St Maarten is a good reg, congrats:)
