Apple quickly realized that apps would one day overtake .coms.
this makes no sense, it isn't .coms vs. apps, they are completely different categories (apps vs. dot mobi would more sense but even that is wrong)
They knew that mobile devices would overtake PCs.
maybe in actual numbers but it's gonna be a long time until people do more _work_ on their mobile devices (maybe the apple tablet will change that ?)
It leaves Google completely dependent on the Apple and Microsoft (MSFT) communities for its success. Exactly what Schmidt has been trying to avoid.
what the @#$, google is plugged in to the entire internet, apple and microsoft could more easily disappear before google, if you're gonna use the internet you gonna find google, no matter how you get there
Google has no moat around its search. Users can change their habits in a day and they will.
yeah, except the statistics prove you wrong buddy, users _don't_ change their habits very easily, they have proven to be very loyal to google
Steve Jobs thinks that mobile advertising is terrible and is ready to revolutionize it with Apple's purchase of Quattro.
agreed, but he isn't that smart that he can fix this mess with a single wave of his wand
Googleโs business will remain an important player in the evolution of the Internet age but the writing is on the wall. Sell Google, buy Apple.
maybe, i would never predict whose stock is going up or down, buy all three, they are all part of the puzzle
disclosure: hard core google user who loves apple hardware and uses microsoft office everyday
ms. how would an .app domain work, i assume you would go to the .app and then download the app and then the updates or would you use the.app as a regular site ? wouldn't that be somewhat redundant
i think apps will work for some things (i.e. games and health stuff for example) but web sites, maybe .app, maybe .mobi or maybe any other tld will work for information (news travel, weather, money, sports)
i use an ipod touch and there is a limit to how many apps you can have on the thing and not get confused
finally, is everyone going to build a separate app for each platform ? iphone are _not_ gonna take over the world
