It may mean Holly, but to a german native may not have the same connotation "we" might put to it relating to Christmas.

kerr I am not the person to give you wrong info on that ... but you may believe so... in fact I did the work and had holly translated from English to german and it gave to me as well "Stechpalme"...

what is fact is that Stechpalme is the word for a plant in German that has no relation to Xmas whatsoever in any german speaking country I know.... it might be though that that particular plant has an association to Xmas in an English speaking country (dunno but it seems so when reading the posts in here)...

so you might believe what you want, but I can guarantee you, if you were in a german chatroom and they were telling you that "stechpalme" is related to xmas in Germany they were making fun out of you...

100% confirming the former statement of Psystem! There is no value and nobody in Germany says "Stechpalme" to the good old Christmas Tree.

Holly can be a plant, like explained. But some countries celebrate Christmas with holly plant, some don't. So I think that's the difference. Despite about christmas or not, this is still a dictionary word in german and I will give at least a mid $xx for it to a german buyer. Hope you can make good use of the domain.
