domain StateExams.Com

I'm trying to aquire stateExams.Com, but the person selling it thinks it's worth 10,000 dollars >.<, I own stateExams.Org, and would like the .com go to along with it but he's trying to sell to me for $10,000 dollars and is holding still (not moving), I've even talked to him on phone he seems set on the idea it's worth that much. I'm curious what you guys think it's really worth?

By the way for admins, I DO NOT own the domain stateexams.com I own the .ORG and .NET the others I could care less about, but would like an appraisal anyways to help in my business deal, I'm offering him $800 dollars which I think is more then generous for the domain name. What do you guys think? Worth my trouble to get it?

when selling a domain its worth whatever a buyer will pay, when buying a domain its kinda up to whatever the buyer wants

that being said i think 10k is way way overpriced

i would think somewhere around the $1k would be fair, just bear in mind tho a quick whois check probably shows that the person contacting him about his .com is the .net and .org owner, ie you are his end user and he wants his end user pricing

Yes, this is true. Though I inquired about the .com before I purchased and developed the .org, I only took .org cause he left me no choice and it was the next best name

just give him your final offer, if its not good enough for him then let it slide for a while, he may think about dropping his price if he doesnt get any other offers in a few months

right now focus on finishing the site, thats the most important thing tbh. The .org extension doesnt hurt that much as once the site is up and running, its all gonna be search engine traffic anwyays. And in some peoples eyes .orgs are more honest reputable sites anyways

don't pay 10k for stateexams.com --- no WAY! it is not worth more than a few hundred dollars.

I would rename my site, before I paid him more than your $800 offer (which was more than generous). Overture of 589...YAWN...

Remember generics are only nice if people are actually looking up those terms...

By the way, your site looks very nice.

Thanks for your input, yeah I'm still fixing up the site before I prepare it's advertisment launch, I've got to put together all the basic categories for each state, and then see if I can let it get off from there.
