I´m doing a car gauge web site. They are ca 195-8 pixels in diameter to somewhat correspond to the actual size, for my 19''-screen, 1280x1024.
I have a similar page today, and the percentages of the visitor's screens are:
1024x768 38%
1280 x1024 24%
These two have the same pixel size so that's why.
On the main selection pages, the images will be half size and when the images are clicked at, the new page shows the clicked image(s) with the actual size.
Anyway, so the questions.
The gauges are circular but what is the best box design for each image,
just squares or a little flat rectangulars, and which side ratio? White background. I am not yet sure about the page background color.
Example, for a square like 220x220 for actual size and 110x110 for half size.
The similar page I have today is just a little one, with a dark blue background, but ctr is quite ok. Most clicks are done at ca 3 - 9pm us times, I guess. Mostly californian visitors, as usual.
Are there general guidelines about background colors?
