Bryan Woods, President, and Rene Bharti, co-founder, are two former Spend.com executives that took on new ventures since. The domain name Spend.com was renewed until it eventually expired and dropped, losing its 1995 registration date.
The dropped auction is currently at 187k. How on earth did they just let this domain go? I suppose since the company was defunct, no one person felt entitled to try to sell it? Why wasn't it liquidated at the end? Wow.
This reminds me of the TV show Salvage Kings. Salvage companies go into sometimes fully furnished buildings and are able to loot the contents. It's amazing that on the way out of business, no one at the company was able to sell anything themselves.
This tells allot about domaining, when such domains drop it's a sign that most domains are dead.
I have hand reg domains registered from 1999 and still see how others are expiring, they end up at Dropcatch and domainers think there is a diamond but in fact it's a semiprecious gem.
