I would like to share a tip about spanish domain names, its based in my knowledge of the language, as im natural spanish speaker.

There are basically two regions of spanish speakers, Spain and Latin America, and even when we can understand each other there are important differences in our vocabularies, not only the slang each country can have, but how our languages evolute.

The spanish ppls, dont integrate other foreigners words as much as latins do, so, they basically translate all to spanish, while latins integrate new words as they are in the origin mostly (there is an organization called Real Academia Espaรฑola - Spanish Royal Academy, that decide which words can be added to the official spanish dictionaries and they only accept to add a foreign word if there isnt any spanish one that can be used). i.e. the mouse device, is called mouse in LA, while in Spain they call it 'raton' the literal translation of mouse, or PC is called the same in LA, sometimes called 'computadora' which is more close to 'computer', while in Spain its called 'ordenador' (ordenar means to order, ordenador should mean the one that order)

Maybe its not a great tip but might enlight you a little, and help you decide what domains to register depending if you aim to resell or target it to the spanish market or the latinamerican market.

If you find it usefull feel free to show that, at least post a comment.

:)

Good to know, thanks.

Btw it would be nice for a Spanish speaker to comment on the domains listed in this thread, in terms of being brandable.

PS: ordenador is ordinateur in French (computer) ;)

Thanks for the info. Zorrito

Do you think it's worth registering english word in spanish extension?

For instance I have Crush.es which can also be a domain hack as a plural of crush.

I am actually slowly building a portfolio in .es and your comment will be greatly appreciated.

Well, crush is not a spanish word, but i think its brandable, cuz even if you say it reading the U as it sound in spanish its pronunciable, some years ago there was an orange flavour soda called like that.

So, my opinion is, developed can be interesting, but i dont think someone would search for this word if they dont know the site exist.

ps: About registering english words, i would say only if they are brandable (shorts and easy to pronunce) OR new tech words like "blueray" (its taken dont worry to search).

Ill comment just on your domains as you requested, if someone else that posted here want i comment of his/her domains re-post.

compinches and complice have almost the same meaning, just that complice is not plural (should be complices) and i think those could be developed, like 'secrets' site.

celosa.es is the female of jealous, a site about women tips maybe?

nuevos.tv in this case nuevos means 'brand new' in plural, if you rank well for "tv nuevos" i think could be a reviews site, fyo tv = televisor/es

iber.tv iber is a nice shortcut, "peninsula iberica" is the name of the region that cover spain and portugal. seems brandable.

vasca.tv the same, pais vasco is a little region.

those are the best domains of your list and the ones i think could work easier.
