Spammed?

I usually get a crap load of spam on my domain emails.... usually 600 to 1000 a day.... today was a pig... 2770!.... but the real problem is they are all large...equals about 60 mb.... anyone else noticed this or am I just the lucky one today? They all seem to be fake failure notices from emailaddresses like [email protected]....

just filter it all out based on sender MAILER-DAEMON@ it's the default setting your vps

I've tried many solutions for eliminating spam.

Since switching my email over to..to, now please don't flame me for saying this guys, to..Godaddy, the spam has disappeared. I probably went from around 300 emails a day to around 10 to 20. My web hosting experience was horrendous but their email services seem to work well.

Just wanted to share my experience. :blink:

it all depends if your vps is managed or unmanaged, if latter then it's the owner's job to do the settings.

on your folder /etc/mail
open up sendmail.mc
type in
null: /dev/null
mailer-daemon: /dev/null

I'll get onto my ISP tomorrow.... I guess I'm unmanaged! (the wife would agree!)

it does seem strange to get all this spam in 1 day though...I must have been lucky up until now

if unmanaged, then you act as overall server admin and postmaster as well.

Wow, that's a whole lot of spam! I receive about 5-20 spam mails a day (gmail).
