Limiting spam / scam posts from new accounts: New accounts pay $10 to "post" in the forum, and its refundable after a certain period of time, if no spam, scam or ill intent has occurred (such as 30 days, accepted in terms and conditions). As far as I know, forums in general on the internet don't really employ such a method. Mods are happy dealing with it when it happens, and no big deal. Just a way to reduce workload. It may affect signups, but the fact that its refundable for those with the right intentions, may outweigh the bull****, and raise the quality of users
If not that, raising the bar slightly for those that wish to create a new thread. Minimum impact score of 30, encouraging a higher percentage of quality posts and good behaviour
