Hi All,

Was hoping to get some opinions on the following trio.

I own:

Soothers (.) net
Soothers (.) org
Soothers (.) info

Also as we're getting to winter, also wanted opinions on:

WinterTyres (.) org

I know the ext lets it down but it does get 27,000 global exacts pm

And finally, any thoughts on:

SauvignonBlanc (.) info

This could be useful for a wine enthusiast, or even a company that specialise in this particular type. 27,000 global exacts pm.

Just wondering, because I've got a set of domains (albeit not .com inclusive, but the next three important ones) that are brandable products.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Trademark issue with soothers (halls)
wintertyres.org are slashed by the .org $xx
and .info drowns the sorrows of sauvignonblanc.info

Thanks for the reply... I must disagree about TM issues though:

Having searched for trademarks via the ipo.gov.uk, I see that Halls have trademarked the phrase "Hall's Soothers", and in the other particulars it shows the following statement:

"Registration of this mark shall give no right to the exclusive use of the word "Soothers"."

Via the USTPO search there are no live trademarks on the phrase "Soothers".

WinterTyres are a very popular product, especially across Europe, and I've turned down a high £xx offer for it at the moment.

Finally, .info I feel suits the extension perfectly for a product that has a lot of 'information' about production processes, types of wine, and thus fits the extension perfectly. I do feel it is at least a mid-high £xx, possibly low-mid £xxx with a bit of luck. Anyone agree?

I'm open to opinions, and am not saying I know the value of these, but would appreciate some other opinions too.

The fact that soothers (.) com seems to have been parked for a long time (or at least had the same type of parking page back in 2005), doesn't bode well for the .net/.org/.info extensions. I couldn't see much value in them, other than trying to sell them to Halls (not sure how that would work out from the legal aspect, even though it's not a TM), although they might be more interested in the .com that someone else has.

Regarding WinterTyres (.) org, it has good traffic for the keyword, high competitor (in terms of advertisers) and an OK CPC (but it's probably not what one would get for ads on the page). The time is now to cash in on that: put up an information site with Adsense and do some good quality SEO to get it ranked #1 for UK search results or have affiliate ads instead (however, if Google thinks it's purely just an affiliate site it won't rank well, so it needs to be quality and not just a landing page - same with Adsense). Undeveloped (to an end user) I'd guess mid £xxx max, but just because it's seasonal and time is ticking away to cash in on it from searches.

sauvignonblanc (.) info depends on what market you're targeting (UK or globally). Adsense isn't likely to bring you much, but a wine affiliate in the highest traffic countries might. Globally? Do you research for this and pitch it well, mid to high £xx wouldn't be unrealistic (end user), but it's tough looking SEO competition, so I don't think higher is realistic.
