Some help for HTML

I need some help regarding this:

In my gallery page, I put 4 pictures (thumbnail). What I want to happen is that when I click on a picture, it will show a large one without linking to another page. When I click on another one, it will do the same. I've found it before in a certain website but I lost the source code.

I don't want to use this <a name=>

You could use JavaScript rollover... I'm still a little confused about what you want though. It wouldn't be html, It would have to be JavaScript or php or some other language.
