domain software.ph -> software for your phone!

I haven't presented any new domains lately in this area, as I have been quite busy.

Anyway, here's my newest acquisition: software.ph

I'm very excited about this domain, and will be hiring a developer for this soon. :D But tell me, is this something that would be better developed for the local market (the Philippines is one of the world's top cellphone-oriented countries), or for a global audience?

Your thoughts, development ideas, and domain valuations are always appreciated!

Nice keyword, regardless of whether it's phone related or not... ext will hurt a bit because .ph is one of the lesser known ext's... I'd say high xx - low xxx, as is.

.ph is a cool extension... will be interesting to see what happens with the country's relationship with the USA, just as an aside.

I'm starting to lean towards the idea of developing for the local market instead. Piracy is still rampant here, and one reason is that software is usually hard to find, and marked up so high. Maybe a well-developed software.ph can help curb piracy by making titles easy to find, and available for purchase in the local currency with only a small markup. :tu:

But the average person on the web has no idea that the dot PH extension exists. So it must be developed as a local site for the phillipines. Even then, are there enough people in the Philipines that go to dot PH addresses? I have no idea.

I say about the equivalent of $50US undeveloped. But it's hard to say. You need to look at stats for keywords in a specific area, not in general. What good is it if 100K US searches are done per month on the keyword "software"? Your target is the philipines. How many times does the keyword "software" get searched on from useres in the Philipines?
