I'm the owner and would like an appraisal.

Also how much do you think I can get for it if I sell via an auction platform?

Update: being brokered by domain holdings, https://flippa.com/6815016-smaller-com , will be sold this time..

Nice domain dude...

As far as smaller being a "negative" word, I don't agree. It's all subjective. Depends on the market space and niche ... sometimes smaller is positive.

I don't see why you couldn't get low to mid $xx xxx

I'd wait for the right buyer. Think if a phone company or any company comes out with a new product that's smaller than all competing products. They may come to you with a big offer. I'd hold on to it in hopes of an end-user who wants to develop the website or use it as a marketing campaign instead of selling it cheap to a reseller. But it requires a lot of patience and possibly looking around and offering the name to large companies. You could get a lot more from it if you wait it out.

I got in touch with a big brokerage firm and they told me that mid 5 figures is possible for this domain.

To the right buyer it definitely is. Don't rush to sell it, hold on to it, even for a year or two - a buyer will come along. Trends of bigger, smaller, etc, happen all the time. Wait until the "smaller" trend is happening and then find a seller or a seller will come to you and be able to market their new product as with the name "smaller.com". If it was me, I would hold out for 10k at the least but you'd have to judge the market and the time - it could be worth even more.
