I own slowcooking.com and am looking for an appraisal to help me decide on my next steps.
Acquisition Reason: I had planned to build an authority site about slow cooking recipes, and monetize with Adsense and Amazon affiliate products, but never found the time to develop it. I installed WordPress and put a couple of articles up, but that's all. Hasn't been touched in years...
Markets: Recipe enthusiasts particularly looking for recipes to be made in the slow cooker / crockpot. Could be potential to capitalize on the various special dietary needs and create categories based around slow cooker gluten free, paleo, etc. etc. Also possibility for crockpot reviews, and possible other related kitchen items.
Value: I paid $1200 for this domain name back in 2004, but I'm unsure what the end user value / cost should be. I would like to get at least my original investment back if possible.
Traffic: I haven't had analytics on the site, so no idea. Just turned on Clicky to see if people actually somehow find it when searching..
Revenue: Not earning any revenue
Age: 17 years, 5 months
Miscellaneous: I'm new to selling domains, and trying to determine if it's worth attempting to sell this domain or if I should try to develop into a property. There is other competition out there, but it feels like it should be a brandable premium name. Of course, I'm a newbie and could be completely delusional
If I were to keep it, there would be quite a bit of work involved to get it generating revenue on a consistent basis. Before I go that route, I'd like to see if this is a domain that could sell for a decent return on my investment.
Thanks in advance for your appraisal!
