Slicing and Coding Error

ive just made a layout in Photoshop and when i sliced it up and saved for web i opened it up in dreamweaver and selected the various images that needed to be changed to background images only for the layout to go crazy and strech horizontally. ive checked all coding and it actually looks perfect. its really beginning to annoy me now because im on my 5th attempt at slicing the damn thing and it keeps doing the same thing. basically i think the reason is because of the auto slicing that photoshop does is not agreeing with my main slice which the content will be shown on. any ideas ? or should i manually slice the rest of the site

It's always better to create your own table and put in your own slices manually. You get much cleaner code and you actually know what's happening.

Anyway, have you previewed the page in Firefox and/or IE?

sorted it out. the premade html from photoshop was a mess and never allowed one of the slices to sit properly. i rebuilt the table and its now working fine. thanks guys :)

Wait you are doing it in DW...big mistake. I have found it likes to create gaps and returns anywhere it finds fit. Code it yourself using CSS and DIVS or....tables. I don't like tables because they usually throw something off by 1px even if the coding is 100% perfect. If you need help setting this up or getting an example, please don't hesitate to pm me.
