Slapped by the Penguin?

Lots of people have been slapped down the SERPs with the recently released Penguin Google algo update.

Lots of theories and it was intended to address "web spam" but there are plenty of weird results showing up in some searches.

Penguin is a total disaster.
For some keywords , there are EMPTY blogs on No.1 position.
And 99% of the websites who lost their position, had Keyword domain names.
I couldn't find a single brand name who lost.
Very bad news for domainers

they prob just took away any boost that they gave keyword domains and evened the laying field but i have seen some content poor( damn near empty) sites ranking for some of the hardest to rank keywords and they were keyword domains

It is very strange update as i saw that many blogs with nothing is come up at top which are not even accessible.

No, I think this update for those sites have duplicate, overlapping, or redundant articles on the same or similar topics with slightly different keyword variations

Their are many website affected due to penguin but they was affected due to their bad work of SEO, the spam links they have created has affected their website and now it is becoming difficult to them get ranking for that keywords, now they have to build quality links for their website which is not an easy task. It can take time to build quality link and improve the ranking of the website.

The Penguin update seems to be penalizing sites that have a lot of links with the same anchor text. You should vary your anchor texts to make your link profile look more organic.
