What kind of domains are more valuable? I would think plural, because it implies more than one. Example: computer.com vs computers.com.

Thanks

Depends on the word. pizza.com has been in the news recently. Isn't that better than pizzas.com ? run.com better than runs? :)

Most domains will be different. It will also depend on the use. Many of the times the Plural will kill the domain and the other way around. So it really depends.

If you have a Cellphone store, you will most likely be selling more then one kind of phone, so Cellphones would be better.

If you are building a site to bitch about a cellphone, then the singular version would be better. CrappyCellphone.com etc...

Now that sounds like a Good name for a site "CrappyCellphones.com"! I'm not going to develop it, but I think the plural would be a good one. If it's available.

It depends.

e.g Cars is better than car.

It really depends on a given word. "Tickets" would be more valuable than "Ticket" but "Chat" would be more valuable than "Chats".

Context if King then! :bingo:

Something that should be tatooed to some of our heads. Without context, some of these names and combos are worthless, or nearly so.

Google trends may be helpful, the below example compares search volume for puzzle, and puzzles.
http://www.google.com/trends?q=puzzle,+puzzles

"Puzzle" is more popular for locations like Australia, UK, and other European countries. But in the US "puzzles" is more popular.

I am from Australia, and I prefer www.puzzle.net rather than puzzles.net

So lanugage and geography are something to take into account also.

I agee it does depend on the word but the non plural versions usualy seem to get taken first.

I like my singular domain - frosh.info,
but I think it works just as well when it's
plural too - frosh.info...

:hehe:

Definitely depends on the word. Plural if it's a domain that a potential enduser could use to sell, review or just have info on a range of products (cars, phones etc).

The singular/plural discussion illuminates the extra value a domain that doesn't have to worry about it has

Eg realestate, music etc

I do a search with a search engine (google, yahoo)
Sometimes I take the one with the more search returns (only if both have marketable results)

Sometimes I'll take the ones with the lesser results (only if the one with more search does not return a marketable search links).

If the results is less than 1Million, I would not touch it!
