Looking for some guestimates, if I should keep these in the future. Estibot had given me a $190 dollar value a week ago for virusspider.com. I have no clue what I am doing, and I am sure this is obvious to the pros here :D.

  1. Avoid auto appraisals.
  2. Stay short
  3. Be sure that your keyword combination will make sense.
Virusspider: I don't like this one because i 'd prefer reversed, although again it doesn't make much sense.
SilverArbitrage: With exactly match 900 approx reuslts on google, i don't think ''silverarbitrage'' can go far.

Thanks that's the kind of info I need! Gold arbitrage is well valuated. I had assumed that this one could be too. Also a virus stole a gene from a black widow to kill bacteria, that is where I got that one. It was trending a lot.

Eh, i am not sure for this one, maybe have some value. I suggest to test your keyword phrase without space on google search. (e.g. ''silverarbitrage'' and not ''silver arbitrage'')

You cannot until you're not a noob ;) No offence, nearly all of us were there once (some entered with sales and market knowledge so bought well from the start, not many though).

To stop being a noob you have to learn the market, just like any product trading - what sells and for what and why, and what doesn't and why.

Read through the other appraisals here which gives an idea of value (not always right but lots of good info around this area).
Read through the marketplaces here on NP, to get an idea of what a lot of domain names go for to resellers. And read sites like DNJournal.com, Namebio.com, to learn about end user sales prices, and some vids on DomainSherpa.com for tactics.

And while this sounds obvious, you really need to remember that what sells and for what price is dictated by the market and buyers, not what we want our names to be worth. Grasp this, and understand there is no get rich quick, and you will learn to pick better names and end up making some money at domaining.

Picking keyword pairs is a fine art, and understanding that there are not millions of buyers sat waiting to buy your name, they're are hundreds of millions of names out there, some just like yours and a lot better, so make sure it's a good one so someone wants it. Or better yet, make sure it's a very good one so many want it and thus higher value ;)
