Any ideas, suggestions what this domain is worth. SiliconTouch.com

Could be good domain for plastic surgeon or cosmetic surgery business, or breast enlargement site...?

All feedback appreciated.

Thanks

Being in the IT industry myself, I've seen sites like this for a while used by medium-sized businesses. I may not still fully understand domain name marketing, but I'd say possibly $1,750. Any others want to second that?

Silicon - The material that drives computers

Touch - Touchscreen

SiliconTouch.com - A website for computer touchscreens

I don't know about $1750 based on computer touch screens.... I am not saying its an awful name, but based on other appraisals I've seen here that seems high for this name.

Let's assume there is a Point-of-Sale Touchscreen company, and they happen to like the domain SiliconTouch.com, they'll purchase it.

There are many restaurants (at least where I live) now that are converting to using POS computers rather than keyboards and monitor. Even after most restaurants have the POS systems installed, they'll still need support for the touchscreen systems.

The thing of it is, will be that you'll need to somehow market the domain name only to touchscreen manufacturers and retailers. If it goes to a general person / business , it might be worth $750 - $800 - Again, I'm still learning the ropes on appraisal, so I would get a second opinion too.

There is an old saying about "Assume" something about what it makes of "u" and "me"

Sure there could be a company pop up in Silicon Valley that makes touch screens, and calls their company "Silicon Touch" in which case, sure they may pay $1750 for it, but that's quite the long shot I think.

Maybe it would be the name of the model of the touchscreen, like Windows.com for Microsoft Windows.

They've made a valid point though, i wouldn't say it's worth as much as that but to an end user in the I.T industry you're definately going to get a lot more than regfee =] A reseller probably wouldn't purchase this though.

I meant "They've" as in yourself. But i'd say low xxx max.

Wow! Even to an IT end-user?

To me this domain is just a fancy BRANDABLE. It is not bad, but I believe that most companies would want something a bit more keywordy. ie Touchscreens.com

I have not seen anyone really promoting computer related products using the word Silicon.

Again you could in theory still find an end user that loves the name. I just know that I personally would be looking for something different if that was my niche.

I do think the domain has some value still yet. But I think it is less overall than was originally quoted

An enduser might just might pay low xxx for this but thats so hard to predict, to an enuser is just reg fee name really.

If that car place can have the "Midas Touch" perhaps a boobie enlargement doctor (yep I said boobie) can have the "Silicon Touch" and if someone then came up with a catchy jingle it could very well be worth $1750.01

Thanks Abryce for your feedback and comments. Helpful stuff.

Thanks to all other members for your comments. Agree, touchscreens.com much more specific, if that was my business.

Now, let me just come up with a 'boobie' jingle.....

Cheers all

P.S. Apparently there is a new concept in the early stages 'Silicon Touch iPhone case' thats been brought out for visually impaired people, allows them to feel the icons and what they're typing etc.
