$50.

If there was a .up extention, then it would be worth a ton! (Even though it doesnt yet exist!)

You beat me to the same punch line.

I just checked http://www.norid.no/domenenavnbaser/domreg.html to see if Shut.up was available but no avail as you rightly say, No .up extension - yet. It would make a great site for married men to offer suggestions on how to shut the old lady up.

I often wondered, if you had the $Billions$ of $Bucks$ like Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Richard Branson, who both own their own islands wether you could change the name of your island to say 'Upton' and apply to Icann for your own ccTLD?

Just take a look at this!!!

Odell Island, New Brunswick, is for sale for just $35,000.

New Brunswick Lakefront Real Estate
Southerly half of Odell Island containing approx. 3.5 acres. Situated on Chamcook Lake. Island is heavily wooded with spruce and pine, and has very friendly access. Ideal spot for tenting and camping out. Chamcook Lake is noted for it's fine sport fishing of Landlock Salmon and Lake Trout.

If the $35,000 provided the right to your own ccTld, or maybe even Nic.ca could grant a second level .ca I think it would be a good $35,000 investment.

Check this site to see what your future domain sales could buy!!! :)

Palau Daot, 587 Acres, took my fancy because of the Dutch Auction.

From a starting point of US $15M, the price of this island will be lowered by $100,000 per week, Dutch Auction style.
The island “Pulau Daot” boasts 7.45 kilometres of coastline with sandy beaches and a natural lagoon located in the northern part of the island. In the middle of this romantic lagoon is an adjoined small islet.

Now if Rick Schwartz would just come along and make 'The Offer' on one of my domains.... :xf.love:

Sorry about the Off Topic, back to The Appraisal,

Shut.in

Could be used for a kids site who have been grounded by their parents.

I guess being grounded to your room for a month, is not like it used to be back when I was young. Most kids these days seem to have a P.C. in their room, and I guess they can bluff their parents, when they are grounded that they are doing school homework when really they are larking around with their mates on MySpace. :hehe:

Could also be used for a prisoners site, but I guess Locked.in would be more appropriate plus I doubt the average cell comes with a laptop and free wifi connection. :(

Very memorable.
Could be used for a site about claustrophobics.
The Gluttony victim springs to mind from Se7en, Morgan Freeman said that it was obvious the man was a 'shut in'.

Maybe if it's a huge island and you have inhabitants and establish some form of society and government. I don't know what the requirements are to apply for new country status or who you'd do that through (the UN maybe?). Assuming the island is in international waters so no established country can claim jurisdiction. But then you leave yourself open to pirate attacks :)
