No NS records are present at all for the domain, at this moment, so trying to find out why the status has been set to 'inactive', and how to solve that. Not sure if it's related, yet. There could be another reason for the 'inactive' status, too.

I am not sure, but I am checking some things now and I will be back with what I find soon.

For now, let me tell you that I think the answer would be "yes, it shows inactive status due to not being properly delegated". But my memory can fail, so I will look up something.

@Future Sensors I suggest you try to replicate what I did in my case, but it is very important that, once you reset the nameservers to the Registrar's, you wait until you receive confirmation of successful delegation to those too. Only then change NS to Atom (having already submitted as Standard).

Ok so I just got confirmation for at the domains I had Atom servers assigned to that they are now successful! I'm not sure why there would be a "lag" in the success of these but I do wonder if it is something similar to what @E. Silvera has mentioned above. Maybe because I have NS profiles set at the registrar and it set Atom NS before I could create an Atom listing for the names. However I didn't have to revert back to registrar NS to "reset" them as it were, it just took a while to return a successful check.

I had one name that was set to registrar NS which @Future Sensors has mentioned had the Inactive status. I have changed the NS to Atom to see if that one also now resolves but failing that I will contact the registrar. Seems strange it would fail the DNS check while set to registrar NS though.

This happened to me once with Dynadot. I can't remember whether I did something then, but, AFAIK, the .SI Registry system will go on performing automatic checks and will finally confirm delegation. I think this is something having to do with the nameservers internal status at the time the .si Registry system checks them.
